What we were taught Part 3 : Responsiblity
In 1976 the Soweto students filled the streets of Soweto to change the Subject
Allocation. Why Afrikaans was targeted not the African Languages?
1.The South African Leaders were Afrikaners and they had the final say
2.The Regional Leadership were unelected natives and they could not pass the major
the major laws which could change the lives of their People.
3.The natives were not taught the word
Freedom.Actually, a person like myself did not know the meaning of the word Freedom. It was the first time to hear the
word from students.
4.The secondary aim of struggle was to spread was to conscioutize South Africa
and the whole world.
We were responsible not to burn the state
property as we knew that will be needed in
future. We did not give the instructions to burn the private property those who did it
were criminals who wore balaclava and properly came from the other areas.
What happened.thereafter?
It was 1986 the morals disappeared.
It was the birth of disrespect and disobedience. The civil criminality was promoted where any white created structure was targeted including the so called snitches.You.couldn't point a leader.
The crowds used to wake us up during the
night and block the streets with burning tyres.
Among the Blacks themselves they killed
each other. The political criminals used that vacuum to further their interests.
The Freedom came in 1994.We the old comrades were highly responsible and we
understood whatever happened was because of transition and the cost of living became higher.
The pain which we had to endure was that some government officials did not have the right relevant qualifications.
That was the birth of Corruption.
And we were responsible and tolerated that.
The criteria of correct interview was manipulated were people like myself were
blinded by the so called procedure.
KZN was dominated by her People and Mpumalanga was a step child of all the provinces including Swaziland and Mozambique where the second generation got high positions in Mpumalanga and we the original South Africans were not hired.
Limpopo,OFS and Northwest depended whether you could speak their languages
very well.Northern Cape depended whether you could listen and do what they like.Western Cape was for Western Cape people.Eastern Cape was trapped by "original People".
The change now is with political people.
Blacks were drawn to all the political parties. Now, the Responsibility has shifted to Personality.
The challenges are
1.No money for appointing the civil servants
2.Funding the EPWP permanently.
3.Increasing income tax.
4.Taxing even the Pensioners which means they are taxed again. They were taxed when they were working.
5.Flimsy vision for the unemployed.
Each Political Party have its own Political
Problems like
1.Positioning
2.Hierarchy
3.Unity
4.Unclear leadership
Some Political Parties are
1.Abusing the courts if they don't get what they want.
2.Go to USA to force the change.
3.Using the masses to show us they are still in Power.
