What we were taught

I'm very proud to belong to a generation of 1950 to 1975.We were taught by parents,
schools and communities to be extra
responsible about our lives.

1.At home we were taught 
1.To be clean
2.Workhard
3.Obidient
4.Manners
5.Respect (Young and Old)

2.With our friends we taught each other 
1.Not Rape.Not even think about it.
2.Persevere with love proposal which may take 3 to 10 years.No love proposal under 20 years even when  you are well build physically.
3.We ought not steal.Respect your parents,family and community property.
4.Hand Gifts with no return.
5.Stay away from Police.I did know a police station until I certified my certificates.

What we were taught by the community?
1.Caring the Young, Adult and the Stranger
2.Love
3.Respect all the people 
4.The Community became worried when you were not working.You are either working or be at school.
I was given a job in  every school holidays at brick factory.It was R1.00 per day.I used to buy clothes.

At school we were empowered with
1.Native Language 
2.English
3.Afrikaans
At Primary school the following subjects were taught in Native Language 
4.Arithmetic
5.Biology
6.Geography
7.History
In Secondary school we were taught in English all the above languages including 
Mathematics 
The was popular JC Junior Certificate or Form 3 where we wrote an  Government Certificate which opened gates for training of  Primary Teachers Certificate,Police Certificate and you could be a Clerk or Private Teacher.
Alternatively 
You could progress to Form 4 to Form 5
which earned us a Government Matric Certificate  and opened gates for Junior Secondary Teachers Course where you will teach Form 1 to Form 3 or go straight to
a 4 to 7 year degree at University and become Medical Doctor,Teacher,Scientists
a Lecturer or a Professor.

What about our Teachers?
1.They made every to make us understand the subject content very well including charts.
2.A Teacher had morals, respected avoided stupid mistakes.
3.A Teacher will be a parent at school and after school.
4.A Teacher either after school or weekends  will visit our parents.

Communication.
There were things which we did not complain for
1.Heavy hand
2.Biasness of the Parent.
3.Listen what the parents say 
4.Even he/she badmouthed you,you don't 
throw back instead you report it to the extended family.

All what I have said was substituted by Equal Education and misunderstood by
the communities and certain officials
of the Department of Education.We were 
not the meaning of Freedom and the personal Rights and the Rights of the other person.

What is left 
1.Soccer (Thanks to the Private sector)
2.Marathon (Thanks also to the Private sector)
3.Music/Traditional (Thanks to Schools,Churches Private Donors)
4.Music Industry (Thanks to Music Companies and the Media)
It's where  our youth must look for jobs.

What is foreign 
1.Rape
2.Killing other humanbeings with reason or no reason.
3.GBV
4.Disrespect
5.Insulting publicly
6.Family disintegration

Living a balanced Life.

A Balanced Life is achievable whether you are poor  or rich.Here are the basics which are neglected  nowadays: 1.Greetings 2.Smiling. 3.Appreciation. 4.Listening. 5.Respond when there is a need. 6.Be Presentable. 7.Oh Respect 8.Be Thankful  1.Greetings. Greeting shows humanity or Ubuntu. Even animals  of the same species do greet each other. 2.Smiling A Smile means you are at peace. You are receptive,recognizing the other humanbeing  and you are free opening to others. Actually it's a super language. 3.Appreciation Small appreciation  when you see the achievements of other People brings luck to you.Lets say you appreciate a Senior Manager,you may land to a big contract or a job unaware.Appreciation open doors. 4.Listening Even if you think,you have the best opinion it is advisable to listen all what is said  and thereafter put your opinion nas opinion not as a "clever point". 5.Respond when there's a need. The kind of the world we live in.

It is ironically that  even the "toothless" people make some noise and we become  scared because we read too much of history.Perhaps we the older generation are very scared. Not with the new Generation. Fortunately,we the older generation calms the new generation.Dont take the advantage of the previous history and think you can  do what you like be a family or mass killings. Example we know People who were criminals and they were sentenced to more than 20 years and 99% of them don't want to go back to jail.The present new generation don't fear jail because they say they are unemployed. We are continuously teaching the new generation to respect, practice what the Constitution says so that our country cannot land into chaos.You must know they have more energy than us.They are in majority.
